Chatto Wines was first established in 2000 by Jim and Daisy Chatto, who hold over 22 years experience of making Tasmanian Pinot Noir. Jim is a respected and highly regarded producer; awarded Gourmet Traveller Wine Winemaker of the Year in 2019 and a senior wine judge across regional and capital city shows. Chatto Wines specialises in pinot noir, with tiny production and very limited quantities. Their own Isle vineyard in the Huon Valley, hosts eight different clones of pinot noir on warm north-facing site, just steps from the tidal Huon River. Unique and delicious wines of elegance and intensity.

Perfumed aromas of red cherries, wild strawberries, rose petals, citrus zest, dried thyme, earth and crushed stones. The tightly wound, vibrant palate has bright acidity and fine, silky tannins, giving notes of cranberries, pomegranate, blood oranges and subtle spices. Mineral and precise with elegance and textural length. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Sourced from Gill Christian and Todd Goebel's vineyard on Brinktop Road in the Coal River Valley. Mid-ruby with aromas of dark cherry and red plum fruits, with some wild strawberry and raspberry top notes. There's flickers of citrus blossom and clover along with hints of medina spice, forest floor, dried cranberry, negroni, dried herbs, char siu and a murmur of toasty oak. There's a depth here, while still retaining a lovely sense of space with taut, powdered riverstone tannins and a sapidity and clarity to its line that stretches the wine's travel on the finish. Very cool drinking.
