Personalised Whistler Skeleton in a Tutu Pétillant Naturel Rosé 2021 10.7% 750ml
This wine is made up of the pressings created during the making of our Dry As A Bone Rosé and put to old French oak to go through partial primary alcoholic fermentation using only the natural yeast. The wine was hand bottled with about 14 g/l of residual sugar. The wine spent the Winter and Spring ticking through the remaining sugars which creates the natural carbonation in bottle.
Located on the golden stretch of Seppeltsfield Road in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Whistler was established in 1999 by the Pfeiffer family, the German "Pfeiffer" translating to "Whistler" in English. The 15 hectare vineyard operates entirely under organic and biodynamic practices with Josh Pfeiffer at the helm. Josh is the next generation of Whistler custodians having returned to the winery in 2013 after a five year winemaking stint at Henschke and a further two years at Two Hands. Josh's "Next Gen" range of wines is all about fun and drinkability. Voted one of the Dark Horses in James Halliday's Wine Companion 2016 and Top 50 Young Guns of Wine for 2016 as well as taking out the People's Choice vote in each city around Australia for Game of Rhones in 2017, both Josh Pfeiffer and Whistler have fast become one of the winemakers and brands to watch in the Barossa.
