Personalised Shaw + Smith Riesling 2022 12% 750ml

A Riesling that is both intense and textural. The 2021 vintage was a terrific year for Riesling with slightly larger berries that gave the wines great flavour and purity. Perfectly balanced flavours include exotic fruits, citrus and orange blossom. The length is long and profound.

Expert Review:
Huon Hooke- 94 Points, Very pale, water-like appearance. The nose is very shy and reserved, very young and unevolved, with sotto voce whispers of lemon pith and lime peel. There is a dab of sweetness that appears early on the palate, which just softens the steeliness a fraction. It remains very delicate, subtle, pared-back and promising to produce more charms if given more time. Intensity and length are very good.

Their aim is to make contemporary, high-quality wines that are outstanding examples of their type made from grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills. Shaw + Smith specialise in grape varieties suited to the cooler climate of the Adelaide Hills, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Shiraz. The vineyard is located on a 28-ha property planted at Woodside Vineyard with new plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir at Balhannah.
