Ageing potential 10-20 years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVineyards\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGrapes for our GRANITE Chenin were sourced from a 45 year old sustainably and dry farmed bush vine vineyard named Eikelaan, planted in the decomposed GRANITE soils of the Paardeberg.  This is our highest altitude GRANITE soil vineyard and with the very deep decomposed GRANITE soils tends to produce wines with great acidity and a flinty, stony aromatic profile.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWinemaking and Maturation\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHarvested by hand, grapes were whole-bunch pressed to barrel and the juice handled oxidatively. Primary and secondary fermentation completed its natural cycles without interference, after which minimal SO2 was added. The wine was left on the lees until spring. Then racked and blended just before the 2023 harvest.
