It represented part of the second coming of the Victorian wine industry which had seen very little new plantings since the turn of the century. This is another excellent release. There's as much pepper as leaf, as much plum as blackcurrant, but there's a sinewy aspect to the tannin that is very cabernet and, as this variety often does, it uses mint\/eucalypt characters to very good effect; adding lift and life to the darkness beneath.
