A full-bodied wine with masses of ripe, supple tannins, lovely harmony throughout the long lingering palate. It needs time to develop its bouquet fully. A young wine with big potential.

Dino Carletti entered the world of viticulture in 1961 to maintain a living contact with the place and culture of his origins. The name Poliziano pays homage to the 15th Century poet Angelo Ambrogini who hailed from Montepulciano and was knicknamed “Poliziano”. Dino’s son Federico Carletti took over in 1980 and has since grown Poliziano from 22 to 240 hectares, of which 130 hectares are dedicated to the production of sangiovese or “prugnolo gentile’ as it is locally known, planted predominately on the southern flank of Montepulciano. Today, the Poliziano wines evoke the historic tradition of the land, but at the same time speak eloquently to the modern world. At Poliziano, vice versa, an uncompromising choice was made: we selected the most suitable vineyards to obtain a young, fruity, and full-bodied wine. The entire production process was studied to this end. The grapes destined to the Rosso di Montepulciano are usually harvested about a week before the one destined to the Nobile, allowing a suitable and not too complex phenolic maturation.
